100 Ah capacity (C20) – This high capacity fencer battery has plenty of reserve power for long fences and extended periods without sun
Extremely low self-discharge – holds charge longer when not in use
High cycle stability – designed for many charge/discharge cycles, reducing replacements and downtime
Ideal for electric fencing – optimised for the low-current, continuous draw of fence energisers, unlike car starter batteries
Ready-to-use connection – supplied with connection cables compatible with energisers, so no extra cables are needed
Robust, maintenance-free design – spill-proof, valve-regulated lead-acid construction for safe, reliable operation
The 100Ah Solar Fencer Battery is a 12 volt special battery built specifically for electric fencing applications. With 100 amp hours of capacity, extremely low self-discharge, and high cycle stability, this battery is designed to deliver reliable, long-term power for both 9V and 12V battery fencers and solar fencer systems.
In Ireland, one of the biggest challenges for electric fencing is hedge and vegetation growth along the fence line. When briars, grass, hedges, and other growth lean onto the wire, they place a constant load on the system, reducing fence performance and draining smaller batteries much faster.
That is where a 100Ah battery makes a real difference. The larger capacity gives your fencer more reserve power to cope with vegetation pressure, helping maintain better fence output for longer and reducing the need for constant recharging or battery changes during the grazing season.
For farms with long boundaries, paddock divisions, or fence lines running beside hedges and ditches, a heavier-duty battery is often the more dependable choice. It gives you more consistent performance in real working conditions, not just in ideal test conditions.
A 100Ah battery capacity is ideal for electric fencing because it offers a large energy reserve that can run your fencer for extended periods between charges or solar recharges. This is particularly important for solar fencer setups, battery fencers, remote fence lines, and systems powering longer fence lengths or multiple wires.
Whether you need to charge your battery during the year depends mainly on two things: the size of your solar panel and the size (output energy) of your fencer. In theory, it is possible to run a solar-powered fencer year-round without any external charging if:
When these conditions are met, the solar panel can keep the battery charged throughout the year, and the fencer will continue to operate without you needing to remove the battery for mains charging.
However, if your panel is too small for your fencer, or if your fence line is heavily loaded with vegetation, the battery may gradually lose charge over winter. In those cases, it is common to give the battery an occasional top-up charge with a mains charger to keep the system running reliably.
For best results with the 100Ah Solar Fencer Battery, pair it with a suitably sized solar panel and a fencer that is appropriate for your fence length and vegetation conditions. This setup will give you the best chance of running your electric fence year-round on solar power alone.
This battery is ideal for farmers, fencing contractors, and landowners who need dependable power for electric fencing systems in remote or high-demand locations. It is well suited to permanent fencing, solar fencer systems, portable fencing, and rotational grazing setups.
