Frequently Asked Questions

What are these connectors used for?
They are used to join electric fence polywire and rope together, and to connect rope to gate handles and insulators at start and end points.

What wire or rope size do they suit?
They are designed for 2.5mm polywire, which is the most common everyday conductor size, but they are compatible with polywire and rope from 1mm to 4mm.

Do I need any special tools?
No. They are quick to close using a standard 6mm spanner or adjustable wrench.

Why use a connector instead of knotting the rope?
Knotting conductive rope can break the fine metal filaments inside and interrupt the current. A proper connector gives a far more dependable electrical connection and helps maintain good conductivity along the fence.

How many come in a pack?
Each pack contains 10 galvanised steel connectors.

Description

Electric Fence Rope Connectors | Polywire Joiners | 10 Pack

Electric Fence Rope Connectors are a practical and reliable way to join electric fence polywire and rope without losing power along the fence line. Designed for the 2.5mm polywire most commonly used in everyday electric fencing, they provide a strong mechanical and electrical connection that helps keep current flowing cleanly from one section of fence to the next.

For farmers, contractors and landowners running polywire or rope fences, joins are one of the most common points where conductivity drops. Tying knots in conductive rope can break the fine metal filaments inside and interrupt the current, so a proper connector gives a far more dependable result. These connectors hold the rope ends securely in place and are quick to close using a standard 6mm spanner.

Each connector is made from galvanised steel for strength and corrosion resistance in outdoor conditions. They are designed for use at start and end points, where the conductor meets an insulator, and for connecting rope to gate handles so that gate sections can be opened and closed without breaking the live circuit. This makes them a useful fitting for both permanent and temporary electric fencing setups.

They are a good match for McNamara Fencing BlackBoot steel post fencing systems, working neatly alongside BlackBoot insulators and gate handle arrangements. They are also suitable for use in electric fence systems built with Clipex steel posts, giving flexibility wherever polywire or rope is being used.

Because installation is straightforward and tool-free apart from a 6mm spanner, these connectors help reduce fitting time across a full fence run. That makes them handy for new builds, fence repairs and quick re-routes of temporary grazing lines.
